WANT TO PARTICIPATE?

We are currently recruiting adult participants (over 18 years old) for the following two studies. Please note all study activities would take place in your own home.

1) The Snacking Study explores the eating patterns of individuals with dementia and/or Parkinson’s Disease. It also explores the feasibility and acceptance of a new snack-based intervention for improving nutrition and quality of life. To participate, you must: 

– Be a person with dementia and/or Parkinson’s Disease living at home
– Live in S/SW Portland, Oregon (or surrounding W/SW suburbs)
– Have a consistent caregiver who can assist
– Have access to a smartphone 

Eligible participants will take part in a two-month trial of a new type of snack food and receive in-home swallowing and nutrition assessments. Both caregiver and care recipient will each be compensated with a $100 gift card.

2) The Family Caregiver Study explores the needs of family members caring for people with dementia. To participate, you must: 

– Be a caregiver for a family member (or chosen family member) with dementia
– Have been caregiving for at least 2 months
– Live at home with the care recipient
– Not be paid for the care provided

Eligible participants will complete a 30-minute online survey and receive a $40 gift card.
